How To Clean Grouting And Sealants

How To Clean Grouting And Sealants And Deal With Mould Issues

Mould can be a big problem in bathrooms, especially if the area is not well-ventilated. If you see mould on your grouting or sealants, it's important to clean it as soon as possible to prevent the problem from getting worse. As part of your Tenancy agreement, you are required to undertake minor repairs and maintenance to the property and this includes cleaning and removing mould from your tile grouting and bath and shower sealants.

As a tenant, you may think that cleaning mould from your bath tile grouting and shower sealants seems like too big a task but in fact, it will take no more than a few minutes of actual work time. Of course, you can call a contractor to do it but this will likely cost £80 upwards.

Cleaning and removing mould from your tile grouting and bath and shower sealants is actually a simple process. The video below demonstrates how using mould spray or similar bleach-based products can help clean and remove black mould from your grouting and sealants.

How To Remove Mould From Bathroom Tile Grout

Mould can be tricky to get rid of, but with the right product and some elbow grease, you can get rid of it for good. Here's what you need to do:

  • Wear gloves, a face mask, and eye protection and don't let anyone use the bath while it is being treated.
  • Apply mould spray by following the product directions.
  • Let the product sit for at least 20 minutes or how long it's supposed to be according to the product manual.
  • Rinse and check. Repeat if the black mould is still present and until there is no longer any black mould on your grouting.
